I received a note today from the local Safer Neighbourhood Team about a recent spike in crime in Yateley & Blackwater – centred around non-dwelling burglaries and vehicle crime.
The local Police would like to raise awareness of the issue for the public to be vigilant and take responsibility for their property.
It is also important to report any suspicious activity as it happens to give the best opportunity to catch those responsible, as well as encourage anyone with information as to who is committing these offences to come forward – this can be done either via 101 or 999 if a crime is in progress.
The Police would also like to reassure partners and the public that they are doing all in their effort to catch those responsible, including targeted patrols in the areas concerned.
Despite the recent rise in burglaries we remain one of the safest places to live with one of the lowest crime rates in the UK.
