An application has been received at the planning department at Hart for the redevelopment of the site that is currently occupied by Parkers funeral directors and Lloyds chemist. The application is looking to demolish both existing buildings and replace them with a new building that will have two retail units and flats.
When a similar application was submitted a year ago it created considerable interest both from those who were concerned about the visual impact on the part of Yateley that contains our oldest buildings but also the loss of Parkers who are a long standing local business which has provided a service for the community over many years.
I will be looking at the plans in detail before coming to a conclusion on the merits of the application but there is an opportunity to comment on the applications either on line at the Hart District planning site [application number 09/03217/CONAC] or at the Yateley Town Council planning committee held at the Town Council offices this Friday.
